How to Reach your Context
Last week I took part in an online hangout for The Broadcast Church Planting Network in which I spoke on the theme of ‘how to reach your context.’
It was a fun, though slightly unusual, experience, speaking to my computer screen with a picture of my own face reflecting back at me, with no idea who was listening, or whether everyone had checked out and gone to put the kettle on. At least when I preach I usually know if people are bored!
But it was enjoyable, and good to engage with a few listener questions too.
If you want to hear what was said, or are just curious to see a tiny snippet of what books are on my shelves, you can check out the video below, or some notes here. Some of the material was drawn from a talk I did two years ago and can be found in a more cogent form here. There’s also a slide below depicting how Paul’s message in Acts 17 connected with the Epicureans and Stoics in his audience.
